I’ve had a lot of fun running Bandter for the past couple of months, but unfortunately, I had to let it go. I’m getting extremely busy these days and cannot afford to take care of multiple sites. I know it seems quite simple, but it’s not for me especially with the work I’ve cut out for myself.
If there’s anyone who has a passion for bands and would like to run this, feel free to apply at Starszz.com
It looks like we’re not the only one overwhelmed with the new release by One Direction, because fellow girl band Parade posted a cover of this song on their Youtube. Check out it below:
So it’s been a while since we’ve had a SOTW, but it is (nevertheless) back! We are also planning on adding more features to the sites rather than just updating with news. Hopefully, it will expand Bandter and bring more visitors, as well as keeping you guys interested.
Anyway, this week’s song is “Stuck” by Big Time Rush. It was featured on the episode “Big Time Dance”, and we really can’t believe it’s been a year since it was premiered. Time flies by with BTR, doesn’t it?!
The song chosen might seem random to some fans, and it really is somewhat. We do have reasons, though. It is one of our favorite BTR singles, and we like the fact that it isn’t about partying (like a lot of other BTR songs) but something deeper. The music video doesn’t quite convey the message as well, so we picked a lyric video for you all to enjoy.
It felt like it’s been forever since we heard something from the Sugababes. After a few months of inactivity, we’re super glad to know that the girls are still going strong. “Freedom”, while it doesn’t sound like the Sugababes years ago, it does make for a good comeback. We think the single is a lot edgier than what we usually expect from them, which might not be a bad thing (we say “might” because we are horrible at prediction chart positions).
Here’s another music video for you to devour today. It’s Wonderland’s third single and we’ve actually been waiting for it ever since we saw the first episode of their show. The song is called “Nothing Moves Me Anymore”. We thought it would be the band’s first single but, as beautiful as it is, considering the genre, we can see why.
The video is also a beautiful one with a little storyline (and we love storylines) following a girl, who was named “Alice” by the Wonderland’s army, going through a breakup. We won’t say anymore for fear of spoiling it. See for yourself:
It’s hard to find the right word to describe how badly we’ve been waiting to hear something from One Direction since they left The X Factor. “Anxious” isn’t even enough. So you could imagine our excitement when we first heard the news of their new single, “What Makes You Beautiful”!
For some reasons, we’ve always imagined them singing music like The Wanted, but, boy, were we wrong. We’re actually very glad One Direction is going down the power-pop road because, let’s face it, dance-pop doesn’t exactly fit them very well. “What Makes You Beautiful” is super fun and upbeat yet meaningful at the same time. We love it!
It’s good to know that if Big Time Rush ever do rule the world, their biggest concern would not be foreign affairs but a DJ for every house. It seems like the band’s specialty is making songs about having a good time, and “If I Ruled the World” is no different. It just carries a more unique concept than their previous singles, such as “Big Night” and “City Is Ours”.
We also never got a chance to show you the video for “Worldwide”, so if you haven’t seen either video, they are posted below:
If we’re being honest, we’re not exactly sure what just hit us. Varsity Fanclub‘s latest work is a song with Justin Bieber called “Swag So Mean”. The solo with just JB was leaked earlier this year, but VFC’s version took the song up a notch, making it sounds more complete with full verses and a chorus.
It’s a little more hip-hop than we expected and we never thought either JB or VFC to have recorded this. But they did. And we are not complaining. After a few listens, it’s starting to grow on us. We recommend you checking out Justin Bieber’s original first. It makes you appreciate the band’s version a lot more, trust us.
Girl band of the moment, The Saturdays is steering toward the dance scene with their new releases, starting with “Notorious” a few months ago. Recently, they debuted a video for their upcoming single “All Fired Up”. Besides the fact that all five girls looked gorgeous like they always do and that the choreography was really nice, there’s really not much to say about it.
The song itself, however, divided their fanbase a bit. With the repetitive lyrics and a different sound, we can see where the disappointment comes from. Hopefully, though, The Saturdays will have more variety with their fourth album. “All Fired Up” might be a great tune, but, let’s face it, too much of a good thing can get tiring.
Unexpectedly, British boy band JLS has turned to world-famous producer, RedOne, to produce their latest release “She Makes Me Wanna”. This one has all the ingredients of a classic JLS single plus a touch of RedOne’s recognizable dance-pop sound, and we think that’s why it’s been doing so well on the chart. With a little help from American artist Dev, it makes for one heck of a summer hit.
